Mothers run the home

As in the words of Amos Bronson Alcott, “Where there is a mother in the home, matters go well.”

Mothers are the ones who run the home, who are in charge of their children, who love to be with them day in and day out. They are the ones who hear of their child's first love; their first crush, their first heartbreak.

They are the ones who hold the hands of their daughters and tell them they are not going to die when they receive their monthly curse; they hold their hands and tell them it's alright and scrape the blood off of the knee. They are the ones who tell them that it's okay to love again after a heartbreak.
